I am used to these kind of words. I asked her ‘’
Why you want to learn art? ‘’
‘’ It’s my childhood dream ‘’ she said
‘’ How much do your shoes cost? ‘’ I asked her.
She got confused. She had no clue why I asked
that question. But she replied ‘’ five hundred
dollars ‘’
‘’ How much are you paying for each of my
classes? ‘’ I asked her.
‘’ ten dollars ‘’ she said.
‘’ Lady...You bought the shoes for five hundred
dollars. After few months you will throw them
away. You are paying only ten dollars for my
classes. Whatever you will learn in my classes,
that will be with you till your last day on this earth.
I paused one moment and asked her ‘’...Now tell
me ...which is expensive ‘’

moment then I asked him ‘’ ...why don’t you try to earn
money instead of becoming a great artist to earn money.

This one painting taught me lot. This painting really helped me how to overcome frustrations in out door. This experience is nice. Doing painting well is not such a big task. But learning from what you are doing is important.

Many art students think ...with a little bit of practice, they can do painting well, like a professional artist. But what will happen is opposite. They never become good.
Why..?
The reason ...ignorance.
They don't know about the nature of subject.
When you don't know the nature of subject which you want to learn, how do you do painting well? so if you want to do painting well, first you learn about it. Then be a dreamer. other wise it leads you to frustration.

I have done this painting to achieve movement and rhythm of light, which are some of the key characteristics of D & C. Movement will avoid static feeling. And it helps to create Rhythm. Of course ... Rhythm is linked with many other characteristics of D & C. Same way Movement can also be achieved through many other elements and principles of Design & Composition.

I have enjoyed this painting very much. Once I completed this , I understood, if you have a sound knowledge about color and composition, all painting is fun. Believe me. Really it is fun... of course, only once you know about color & Composition.To create movement and Dynamic Equilibrium, again I used split compliments and simultaneous contrast. When you are creating a landscape which is full of energy, conflicting opposition forces are essential. Otherwise your painting will become static.

This is another example of Color and Composition. In this picture I did not bother much about planning a subject.I made Color and Composition as my subject. I worked with simultaneous contrast by using split compliments.

This is an another example of my abstract realism. I played with colors, concerned with composition. When I am in painting process, I won't bother about any rules conciously. Once basic structure evolves, I will use all the rules to do corrections. Corrections mean exclusions and inclusions. Allready I told you all painting process is about exclusions and inclusions. To create dynamic energy and a little bit conflict in this painting I used split complimentories along with harmonious color combinations.

Know this. All painting is Design & Composition. Without understanding Design & Composition you will never become an artist.

In this painting I played with color and other tools of Design. I used simultaneous contrast mostly.This painting makes us feel the combination of Realism, Semi abstract and abstract approaches. I am beginning to feel this may be the right creative approach to the artist.

unifying factor

After thought, I realised a little bit orange patch (which I marked with a line in above picture) is required to achieve proper relation between water area and the location of sun. This little bit of orange acts as an unifying factor between ground and sky. To be a good artist, everybody has to watch out for these kind of inclusions.

Semiabstract art

The first one express stillness of night, but the red patches create tension. We feel,some danger lies in that stillness.Nobody likes to stay in that atmosphere.

In the second picture, I have created some raw energy and romanticisam. Anybody would love to stay there. I have done paint applications in two dimensional approach to restrict the viewer to see the detail. Because of this approach the viewer feels the totality of the picture. Then only he feels the energy and romanticisam.

Both paintings are done in semiabstract approach.

What is semi abstract and abstract art? It is nothing but playing with the basic Two dimensional shapes of the objects or imaginative things. This play is mainly with Color, Balance, Patterns, Rhythm and Dynamic equilibrium, variation and many more elements and principles of Composition & Design.
I have planned to give examples of these applications in this Blog. I hope this will be helpful to the upcoming artists who are anxious to know many facets of Composition and Design.....
And after thought I am adding....
I am doing these works through very simple approaches to make anyone understand them easily. Curiosity will lead to questions. Questions will help us to be knowledgeable. This is the way I have learned knowledge. So I am open to your questions....

Prasuna,s amazing work

Here is Prasuna's recent copying from Anton Gutknecht's work. The amazing thing is this is her first full color work. Before this she did some achromatic and monochrome works. After that practice she has done this. And she did this one in very large size(48x36 inches) also. How amazing this is from a student, from their first painting, that also without any help from the teacher.

I wish, she will become a successful artist.

yes. I am accepting their marketing theory. But I am not selling something which people use and throw.

Mine is Art . it is Immortal. I don't know how is it possible to do business with immortal things. I may be a fool to be in this kind of thinking. But sometimes... some fools.... can live in paradise, where intelligent people could not survive.

Ramya - her excellent work

I like Robert Johnson's work very much.
Many of Robert Johnson's paintings express bold and rapid brush strokes.
Ramya copied one of his paintings ' Breton Roosters ' for practicing bold
and rapid brush strokes. Usually Ramya works with big and flat brushes.
So copying Robert painting was not become a problem to her.
Here one surprising thing is ... Ramya stopped painting Eight years back.
She has restarted painting recently. After that this is her 3rd painting.
Its nice to see this kind of learner....and her excellent work.

It was nice to be back to class. But things weren't same this time. The experience was new & unknown- it was enpwering, as we had all the freedom to do what we we wanted to do with the brushes and colors - but the very freedom was stiffling at start. So used to borders, boundaries and margins - I barely knew what to do.The first two works were reality distorted - but then gradually some sense emerged - a road through darkness leading to an unknown light- fun- freedom- or may be joy. the work freed me from all stress- was a blissful excitement - very intoxicating. I hope we could do more of this type.....

I have conducted our first workshop on October10th and 11th. Five students attended this workshop.
At the end of the workshop the response which I received from them was really beautiful. I did not expect that level of response from my first workshop. But its nice to achieve that level of success.
The main reason for this success is its not just about teaching Modern Art. It is more than that. I taught them how to think creatively. I helped them to understand their inner energy. I pushed them to struggle to use that energy to be a creative mind. When they experienced this they became excited. Experiencing this excitement is the essence of my Modern Art Workshop programme.

Here is Prasuna. Most talented and determined young lady. She completed just 40 classes in my art course.

Before that she did not have any experience in painting or Drawing. Now she is good at drawing.And she started painting 15 classes back.

Already she has finished 3 paintings. All are achromatic oil Paintings. This is her first Monochrome reproduction. She reproduced this painting

from some western artist's work.(Artist name is unknown) She told me, some people are not believing that she has done these paintings on her own.

Yes! People will feel that way. Because they could not expect any student can learn to do paintings this much quickly.

But it is True. Anyone who understood the importance of Value will be able to do this way. Prasuna understood that.

People like Y. S . Rajasekhar Reddy are born very rarely on this earth. If some great Leader or Celebrity dies some people will feel pain

and some people may cry. But that Crying or Pain will not Last long. With in one or two days people will forget that person and start to

work as usual.But with YSR it changed. All over the state people cried continuously for days and days. Not just a few people, entire state

felt that shocking pain. Till this day it has never happened in History. This New Chapter started with YSR.

Why did This Many People cry for him?.... A Question.Answer ... Everybody felt He is the symbol of Warrior. Not only a Warrior.

He is synonymous with a true Human being who shows concern for poor people's welfare. That's why the poor cried for him,

as if they lost their earning family number. To them he is simply a God. With his sad demise YSR become a God to the poor people.

After experiencing this I was inspired to paint his Portrait. I have become successful in capturing his spirit in this painting.
